Vietnam Airlines and Lufthansa Technik AG have signed a service contract on the maintenance of auxiliary power units (APUs) for the Airbus A350 wide-body fleet. The deal is aimed at helping Vietnam Airlines improve efficiency in technical and flight safety.
Under the contract, Lufthansa Technik AG would provide a three-year service for 10 APUs of A350 aircraft between now and 2020. The airplane, operated by Vietnam Airlines, is one of the world’s most modern wide-body aircraft models.
Vietnam Airlines’ A350 aircraft fleet is equipped with Honeywell APUs, meeting international standards. Lufthansa Technik AG is the only company authorized by Honeywell to repair and maintain its APUs.
Currently, Vietnam Airlines fleet includes 12 A350 aircraft and the airline plans to receive another two A350s in 2019.
