Vietnam Airlines has inaugurated its first simulator cabin in August 2018, marking a milestone in its investment strategy for pilot training. The simulator complex, installed at the Vietnam Airlines Training Center, consists of four cockpit simulators: two for A321 pilots, one A350 simulator and one for the Boeing 787 fleet.
The establishment of the aircraft simulator complex brings many benefits to Vietnam Airlines in particular and the aviation industry in general. A full localization of training pilots for three major aircraft models will help keep Vietnam Airlines proactive in pilot training, ensuring the quality and quantity of its pilots at the highest level in accordance with international standards, meeting the highest standards of safety for its flights. Vietnam Airlines would also save more than VND 285 billion within 10 years for self-training upgraded pilot.
Strategically, the simulator complex marks Vietnam Airlines’ position in the market, pioneering the provision of training services for the next generation of aircraft and navigation. It also reaches the goal to place Vietnam Airlines’ Training Center among the region’s top 5. Up to now, the facility has provided training services for many regional airlines, including basic training for pilots from Australia and India.
