Vietnam Airlines has begun spraying disinfectants and cleaning all of its operating aircraft immediately after landing in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City as of midnight of March 25 in order to ensure absolute safety for passengers, making it the country’s only carrier to make such a move.
The effort involves the airlines’ proactive preparation of equipment and disinfectants, conducting training and building a disinfection process with two basic steps: spraying disinfectants on each plane and cleaning equipment and devices using specialized solutions.
Apart from the disinfection after each flight, all the aircraft operated during the day will get the spraying again at the end of the day and undergo an overnight incubation process to enhance the preventive effect.
The entire cabin area, cockpit and the preparation area for flight attendants are subject to strict disinfection. Places and equipment in target are those most often toughed by hand, such as luggage compartment locks, armrests, headphones, all the buttons etc. Having undergone a 30-minute spraying of disinfectants and equipment cleaning, each airplane is put back into operation.
To ensure the safety for passengers and the crew, all the procedures and chemicals used by Vietnam Airlines for cleaning and disinfection comply with the highest standards of the healthcare and aviation sectors. The CH2200 and Netbiokem DSAM disinfectant cleaners used for spraying and cleaning have been approved by the healthcare authorities and aircraft manufacturers for use on the aircraft, ensuring safety for passengers’ health.
In addition to strictly carrying out aircraft disinfection, Vietnam Airlines has also been implementing a number of epidemic preventive measures before each flight taking-off, such as passenger health checks at airports, refusal to transport the passengers with signs suspected of coronavirus infection as well as extended seating space arrangement subject to availability. The measures are part of Vietnam Airlines’ efforts to provide passengers with the most comfortable, complete and assured flights.
