Vietnam Airlines Expands Non-Baggage Airfare on Domestic Routes

Vietnam Airlines has started offering air tickets without checked baggage since May 15, 2020 on several more domestic routes between the airports of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Van Don (in Quang Ninh province) and Cam Ranh (near Nha Trang city).
The policy offers passengers, who travel without checked baggage, to buy super-saving Economy tickets at a special fare of only VND 579,000/way, including taxes and fees. Passengers are still able to carry 12 kg in hand luggage. Tickets are available on the airline’s website, at ticketing offices and agents in Vietnam for departure from May 15, 2020.
Should the demand for checked baggage arises, passengers can choose to purchase Vietnam Airlines’ prepaid packages (six hours at the latest before the departure time) or pay for baggage charges directly at the airport.

Lotusmiles Platinum, Gold, and Titanium members will still enjoy the baggage allowance according to the membership tier when buying non-baggage tickets:

  • Platinum members: Two pieces of baggage free of charge.

  • Gold and Titanium members: One piece of baggage free of charge.
