Lotusmiles Reaches Golden Milestone with 2 Million Members
Lotusmiles Program is pleased to welcome its 2 millionth member in November, 2018, a milestone marking Vietnam Airlines’ transition of both quality and quantity under the new slogan “It’s Miles Life”.
Founded on December 17, 1999 and reaching 9,098 members a year later, the airline’s frequent flyer program has since recorded its membership growth of more than 200 times. The number saw a real jump in 2017-2018, with the enrollment of more than 500,000 members each year following service improvement, better online functions and “Lotus Connect”, a new member incentive program launched in 2016.
On November 11, 2018, on the occasion of Lotusmiles welcoming the 2 millionth members, lively activities attracting passengers took place at Gate 20, at the International Terminal Lounge of Tan Son Nhat Airport. Passengers were invited to take a 360-degree photo shoot at a backdrop, upload their photos to their Facebook pages with a hashtag and receive souvenirs from Vietnam Airlines.
In particular, if a passenger has yet to be a Lotusmiles member but registered for enrollment right at the event, he or she stood a chance to win an attractive prize of a pair of round-trip Economy Class tickets to Europe on Vietnam Airlines flights.
By the end of the event, more than 200 passengers have registered for enrollment with the Program directly at the airport and Ms. Janet Hoo, a Malaysian, has been awarded the ticker pair.
The interaction with passengers at Tan Son Nhat airport to welcome the 2 millionth member has a strongly spreading impact, catching passengers’ attention. This is a stepping stone for Lotusmiles Program to advance steadily toward the next milestone of reaching 2.2 million members within 2018.
