Since May 19, 2018, Vietnam Airlines has transferred all its operations at Baiyun International Airport in China’s province of Guangzhou to the new terminal T2, contributing to improving the quality of the airline’s ground service for flights between Guangzhou and Vietnam.
T2 terminal is modernly equipped, with face recognition enable in the immigration system, automated baggage conveyor etc. The terminal is structured with more space and signs so passengers can easily find way between sectors.
At the new terminal, Vietnam Airlines serves passengers at nine Lane N check-in counters, from 25 to 33. Priority service (fast track) at security area for Lotusmiles Platinum members and Vietnam Airlines’ Business class passengers are available. The Business lounge on the 4th floor, with an area of 4,200 square metres, is also ready to serve Lotusmiles members and Vietnam Airlines’ Business class passengers.
Given a distance of 1 km between the old and the new terminals, Vietnam Airlines has placed banners in 3 languages (English, Chinese, Vietnamese) to guide passengers to the new terminal. The Guangzhou airport authority also assigns staff to guide passengers and, at the same time, increase the frequency of airport bus service.
Currently, Vietnam Airlines operates three direct flights between Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City/Da Nang and Guangzhou, with a total of 17 flights per week.
