New experience with Japanese style catering kits for Business Class

From July 15, 2018, Vietnam Airlines Business Class passengers on flights between Vietnam and Japan (destinations including Tokyo (Haneda, Narita), Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka) have been able to choose Japanese meals served in catering kits designed in the traditional style of the cherry-blossom country.

The year 2018 continues to mark changes by Vietnam Airlines in improving its service quality. Japanese-style meals, which have been on Vietnam Airlines menu since its first flight to Osaka in 1994, are now being improved with Japanese-style catering kits. The kits are divided into three parts, observing the meal order of the Japanese, with food trays for appetizer, main course and desserts carrying Japanese style design and which also include Vietnamese features. Passengers can try an appetizer served on the semi-circular disc with elegant pattern or in Japan’s traditional octagonal jar. Main dishes are served in porcelain bowls featuring lotus flower, lotus leaf and lotus petal – Vietnam’s symbolic flower. Taking the role of regulator, the bowl of brown enamel used for miso soup has also become an important part of the main food tray. Dessert is displayed on a plate of blue porcelain designed with cherry blossom petals, reflecting Vietnam Airlines’ respect to Japanese culture. Each small item is designed exquisitely, representing the harmony between the form and the taste of Japan, while carrying lotus roses as a Vietnamese culture distinction. The year 2018 is also when Vietnam Airlines strives to maintain and upgrade its service in line with Skytrax standards, aiming to become a Five-Star Airline in the near future.
