Vietnam Airlines has been awarded the “Four Star Global Airline” rating, an honor based on quality air services, by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX).
The award, handed in September by APEX, a non-profit organization representing the world’s leading airlines, has placed Vietnam Airlines on the same ranking with major airlines such as Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and United Airlines.
Unlike Skytrax which ranks airlines based on the overall ground to in-flight service quality, APEX conducts regular survey and uses passenger feedback to assess airline in-flight services for the past 40 years. Its criteria for evaluation include seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverages, entertainment. These services have recently received huge investment from Vietnam Airlines.
Only 107 out of nearly 500 airlines are rated by passengers at the four- and five-star levels, which shows their strict but careful assessments on airlines’ service quality, said APEX Managing Director Joe Leader. “We are very pleased that Vietnam Airlines has become one of only a few global airlines to win the four-star airline award for the service quality being increasingly improved,” he added.
Previously, Vietnam Airlines has received prestigious awards, such as “Four Star Airline Rating” handed by the international air transport rating organization Skytrax for 3 consecutive years, “Travelers’ Choice Awards: Major Airlines – Asia 2018” by TripAdvisor, and “World’s Leading Cultural Airline” and “World’s Leading Airline – Premium Economy Class” by World Travel Awards.
