Vietnam Airlines to Open Ho Chi Minh City – Van Don Route

Vietnam Airlines is scheduled to begin flights connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Van Don International Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh from December 30, 2018.

The national carrier will operate regular flights on the route, with a frequency of one flight daily using Airbus A321 aircraft. Departure from Ho Chi Minh City is at 14:00 and from Van Don at 16:45, with an expected flight time of 2 hours 5 minutes.

The Ho Chi Minh City-Van Don route will help strengthen the connection between Vietnam’s southern and northeastern regions, meeting the demand for tourism and trade between Ho Chi Minh City, the country’s largest financial and economic center, and Quang Ninh and other nearby provinces. At the same time it is expected to intercept an increasing demand for goods transportation in the future, when Van Don officially becomes a special economic zone.
