Tan Son Nhat Airport Trims PA Announcements
The Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport authority has abolished announcements over the airport’s public address system such as final calls for boarding, flight status changes and reminders of late boarding at both the international and domestic terminals as of October 1, 2019 to limit noise and improve the service quality. It however leaves the announcement on boarding gate changes intact.
Instead, Vietnam Airlines staff, while assisting passengers for boarding, will aim to advise them of the change to flight announcement at the ticketing and check-in counters. At the departure gate, based on the number of passengers already checked in, the airline will arrange staff holding a plate containing flight number and destination details to invite the air travelers to board.
All the flight status information will be updated continuously on Flight Information Dislay Screens and bulletin boards at the airport. Please follow the information and instructions at the airport to get flight updates and make sure to be at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes prior to departure.
“Going Silent” is a trend recently adopted by many major international airports, using hi-technology to bring relaxation and convenience to passengers.
