Many Vietnamese families often wish to have a branch of peach or apricot blossom for the upcoming Lunar New Year festival, or Tet, to welcome the new spring.
In order to meet passengers’ demand around Tet, from January 27 through February 26, 2021 (i.e. Dec 15, 2020 to Jan 15, 2021 of the lunar calendar), Vietnam Airlines will begin transportation of peach and apricot branches as checked baggage on its domestic flights and those operated by Pacific Airlines.
Passengers buying Economy Classic tickets or above (booking classes J, C, D, I, W, Z, U, Y, B, M, S, H, K, L, Q, N and R) will be entitled to a bundle of peach or apricot flowers free of charge. For those who wish to take along the second bundle, or for the passengers who have tickets on other booking classes, a charge of VND 495,000 is in place per bundle (including VAT).
Peach and apricot branches must be tied into bundles (each bundle comprises of two branches at the maximum) with outer cover and without pots, the size of each bundle should not exceed 150x40x40 cm. Registration to carry a bundle as checked baggage should be made at least 24 hours prior to the flight departure, with the seat confirmed. For other ornamental plants, Vietnam Airlines only accepts as cargo in accordance with the process to ensure operation safety.
