Vietnam Airlines will resume its flight services between Hanoi and the northwestern mountainous province of Dien Bien in December after the renovation of the Dien Bien airport.
Dien Bien province, home to rich mountainous terrain, rivers and streams along with many historical and cultural heritages, has been an attractive destination for tourists.
While in Dien Bien, visitors can enjoy majestic landscapes such as Pha Din pass, Muong Thanh fields, Pa Khoang lake or admire the bright yellow wild sunflower season in November and December. Tourists can also learn more about the heroic revolutionary history when checking on relics such as Dien Bien Phu Battle Command Headquarters, A1 Hill, the bunker of Colonel de Castries… Besides, the province is also known for the rich culture of ethnic groups, many unique highland rituals and cuisine.
Following a six-month closure for upgrade and expansion, the Dien Bien airport now with a 2,400-meter long runway meeting technical standards for wide-body aircraft has resumed operation.
Welcoming the new look of the airport, Vietnam Airlines will officially operate commercial flights by A321 aircraft as of December 2, with daily flight, 7 flights per week, after the first test flight on November 30.
