Lotusmiles, Vietnam Airlines’ frequent flyer program, has introduced the following changes to its existing policies since September 1, 2024.

Card Tier Qualification Requirements Reduced for Senior Members |
Lotusmiles members aged 60 and over will have its card tier qualification requirements reduced – 20% reduction of the normally required qualifying miles/segments for Platinum, Gold and Titanium card tiers. Members are advised to send an email requesting a card tier upgrade/renew to the Lotusmiles Contact Center with their Lotusmiles membership number and identification documents (passport or ID card). Lotusmiles will assess your request and have your card upgraded immediately.

Family Account Expansion to Additional Family Members |
The Family Account membership is now extended to include daughter-in-law, son-in-law, stepfather, stepmother.
Family Account members under the new regulation include: Biological parents, Parents-in-law, Adoptive parents/legally recognized guardians, Wife or Husband, Biological children, Adopted children, Daughter-in-law/Son-in-law, Stepfather/Stepmother recognized by law.

Mileage Accrual Factor Increased |
The mileage accrual rate for Economy Flex tickets on Vietnam Airlines-operated flights now increases to 1.10 from 1.00 previously. With the new policy, members have the opportunity to accumulate more qualifying miles and bonus miles.

Lotus Lounge Access Awards |
Million Milers members can get Lotus Lounge awards for up to 3 companions. Platinum and Gold members can get awards for 1 companion.
The mileage deduction level applied to Lotus/Business Lounges at Vietnam-based airports:

- Domestic flights in Vietnam: 2,500 miles/person/flight
- International flights: 4,500 miles/person/flight
In case of getting rewards for people not on the nominee list: A 20 percent of mileage will be charged as per regulations.

Lower Minimum Purchases of Qualifying Miles/Segments |
Lotusmiles members can buy the qualifying miles/segments to upgrade/renew cards with a minimum of 1,000 miles or 1 qualifying segment, decreased from the previous minimum of 2,000 miles or 2 qualifying segments.

Higher Unit Prices for Transferring, Extending and Restoring Miles |
The unit prices in Vietnam’s market are increased as follows:

- Transferring bonus miles: VND 220,000/1,000 miles.
- Fee for converting bonus miles to qualifying miles/segment: VND 220,000/transaction.
- Extending expiring miles: VND 110,000/500 miles.
- Restoring expired miles: VND 110,000/500 miles.
The transfer, extension, and restoration prices in markets outside Vietnam remain unchanged.

Million Milers’ Membership Card Reissuance Fee |
Million Miler members are entitled to the top benefit level for life, and have a 5-year Million Miler card issued free of charge. After 5 years, members can have a new card issued free of charge. In case the card reprint is needed before the 5-year period, the issuing fee will be as follows:

- In Vietnam: VND 9 million/card/request.
- Outside Vietnam: USD 400/card/request.
- The card reissuing time is within 30 days.
